About The Unlock Report

The Unlock Report is an independent, unofficial fan guide that tracks the launches gamers actually count down to — starting with Grand Theft Auto VI. We do one job: tell you what is confirmed, what is rumoured, and what is simply not true, with the receipts to tell the difference.

01 — What this site is

Unofficial, on purpose

The Unlock Report is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive — or to Sony, Microsoft, or any other publisher or platform holder we cover. "GTA" / "Grand Theft Auto" and all game and console names are trademarks of their respective owners, used here only to identify the products we track. All text, tools and artwork on this site are original; the sunset-skyline artwork is our own illustration, not game art, and we reproduce no game assets.

What we publish: launch countdowns and unlock times, preload planners and storage tools, honest edition comparisons, and trackers that separate confirmed facts from rumours — currently for GTA 6 (launching Thu 19 Nov 2026 on PS5 + Xbox Series X|S), with other major releases, such as Fable (23 Feb 2027), on the same radar. Everything is free to read; the site is supported by clearly labelled advertising and affiliate links, disclosed on the home page.

02 — Editorial standards

Confirmed means confirmed

Gaming hype runs on screenshots of screenshots. Our rule is simple enough to print on the wall:

Confirmed
Label
Stated by the publisher, platform holder, or an official store listing — and checked against the primary source, not a summary of it. Dates, prices and sizes on this site carry this label only when we have seen the source ourselves.
Rumour
Label
Reported by press or leakers but not confirmed officially — like the GamesBeat report suggesting a possible early-2027 PC window for GTA 6, based on anonymous sources. Rumours are always attributed, always labelled, and never upgraded silently: a rumour becomes "confirmed" only when an official source says so.
Not announced
Label
When something doesn't exist yet — a PC version, system requirements, a Steam page — we say so plainly instead of filling the gap with guesses. "Not announced" is a complete answer, and padding it out would be a disservice.
History
Label
Past patterns (like Rockstar's console-first, PC-later history with GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2) are context, clearly labelled as history — useful for expectations, never presented as news about the future.
03 — Corrections

When we get it wrong

Launch information changes — preload times move, editions get clarified, dates shift. When a fact changes, we update the page and the "facts checked" date in the header, and when we have made an outright error, we correct it in the open rather than quietly rewriting history. Spotted something wrong, or something we have labelled rumour that has since been confirmed? The contact and corrections route is on the home page — corrections from readers are read first, before anything else in the inbox.

One promise we will keep making: if we don't know, we say we don't know. A hype tracker that invents certainty is just marketing with extra steps — and you can get that anywhere.
