Nintendo: Switch 2
Switch 2's second holiday season opens with the best-reviewed game of the year and a public promise that its price won't rise again — set against an earnings dip that has investors asking where the next mega-hit comes from. This hub tracks the price, the slate, and the one question GTA 6 fans keep asking us about Nintendo.

The price, settled for now
Switch 2 launched on 5 June 2025 at $449.99; on 1 September 2026 Nintendo raised the US price to $499.99 (the Mario Kart World bundle sits at $549.99), citing the same memory market squeezing Sony and Microsoft. At the 5 November earnings, president Shuntaro Furukawa closed the subject for now: Nintendo is "not considering additional changes" to the price, and says it can secure sufficient memory quantities. The company held its full-year hardware forecast at 16.5 million units — a confident hold, given quarterly profit fell 16% and the post-hike quarter showed softer hardware momentum. In Japan, the machine keeps stacking numbers: Famitsu counted 68,733 Switch 2s sold in the last week of October alone, for a 6.52 million Japanese lifetime total, and stock in the US remains comfortable — no scarcity story here, unlike the PS5 Pro.
The Zelda moment
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time launched on Switch 2 on 5 November to a 96 Metacritic average from 84 reviews — the highest-rated game of 2026 — and instantly became the system's holiday centrepiece. It follows a launch window already carried by Mario Kart World, and late-October Japanese charts were topped by Nintendo Switch Sports Resort. Whatever the earnings-call anxiety, the software side of Switch 2 is doing its job.
Biggest on Switch 2

Is GTA 6 coming to Switch 2?
No announcement exists. Plainly: Rockstar and Take-Two announced GTA 6 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only, launching 19 November 2026. A Switch 2 version has not been announced, teased, or listed anywhere official, and the game's reported install size — up to 212 GB — sits larger than the Switch 2's internal storage, which gives you a sense of the technical mountain involved. Could a port happen someday? That's speculation, and we don't dress speculation up as news. If Rockstar ever announces one, it will be a confirmed brief in our news hub the same day. Until then, the honest answer to "GTA 6 on Switch 2?" is: not announced.
